גִּיר (gîr) is an Aramaic noun meaning chalk. It appears 1 time in 1 book of the Hebrew Bible (Strong's H1528).
Root family 2655: גִּיר gîr — plaster. The Hebrew equivalent, gēr, is used only once, in Isa 27:9. It refers to powdered stones of an altar. The Arabic equivalent refers to quicklime or heat.
