Also rendered

Same Hebrew root (TWOT 2692)

Root family 2692: הֲוָא hăwāʾ — , הֲוָה (hăwâ) come to pass, become. In general this verb is used like the related Hebrew verb hāyâ. A peculiarity of the Aramaic is that in the imperfect a לַמֶדְה (lamedh) is used instead of the usual preformative יָדְה (yodh). Also in Aramaic the verb hăwâ is often used with a participle to make a periphrastic tense expressing continuous and habitual action (e.g. Dan 6:10 [A 11], “as he used to do formerly”)
