נוּף (nûp) is a Hebrew verb meaning move to and fro. It appears 37 times in 11 books of the Hebrew Bible (Strong's H5130).
Root family 1329: נוּף nûp — I, to perfume; to send (Hiphil). nûp is used once in the Qal stem for sprinkling perfume (Prov 7:17). Hiphil used once for bringing rain (i.e. causing to sprinkle; Ps 68:9 [H 10]). Cognate evidence indicates the existence of a distinct root with the above range of meanings, but its exact meaning in Hebrew remains unclear for lack of evidence
