19 And he left there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat; and he was plowing; twelve pairs were before him, and he was with the twelfth. And Elijah passed over to him, and threw his mantle upon him.

Elijah, threatened by Jezebel, flees to Beer-sheba. In the wilderness he is given food and drink by an angel. At Horeb God appears to him, sending him to anoint Hazael, Jehu, and Elisha. Elisha follows Elijah.
