KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 5 of 6

1 Do not sharply chastise an older man, but exhort as a father; and younger ones as brothers,

2 older women as mothers, younger ones as sisters, in all purity.

3 Honor widows, the ones being really widows.

True widows who are left alone and have set their hope on God are to be honored. If widows have children or grandchildren, those relatives should first learn to care for their own family.

A widow may be enrolled for assembly support if she is at least sixty, wife of one man, and witnessed by good works including raising children, hospitality, washing saints' feet, and relieving the afflicted.
