KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 28 of 36

1 Ahaz was a son of twenty years when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not do the right in the eyes of Jehovah, as his father David,

2 but walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and also made molten images for the Baals.

3 And he himself burned incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burned his sons in the fire, like the disgusting acts of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from before the sons of Israel;

Chapter Summary

Ahaz reigns wickedly and is greatly afflicted by the Syrians. Sending for aid to Assyria he is not helped. In his distress he grows more idolatrous. He dies. Hezekiah succeeds him.
