Chapter Summary
Jehu causes seventy of Ahab's children to be beheaded. At the shearing house he slays forty-two of Ahaziah's brethren. He destroys all the worshipers of Baal. Jehu follows Jeroboam's sins. Jehoahaz succeeds Jehu.

Timeline
Jehu writes to the rulers of Samaria to choose a son of Ahab to fight for the throne. They are terrified and instead submit entirely to Jehu's commands.
2 Kings 10:1-5Jehu orders the rulers to bring the heads of Ahab's 70 sons. They slaughter the men, put their heads in baskets, and send them to Jezreel.
