1 But a certain man, Cornelius by name, was in Caesarea, a centurion of a cohort. the one being called Italian,

2 a devout one and fearing God, with all his household, both doing many merciful deeds to the people and praying to God through all.

3 About the ninth hour of the day, he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, Cornelius!
