Colossians 3

KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 3 of 4

¹ Therefore if you were raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is sitting at the right of God; Psa. 110:1

² Be mindful of the things above, not the things on the earth.

³ For you died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God.

⁴ Whenever Christ our life is revealed, then also you will be revealed with Him in glory.

Jesus Christ

The believer's risen life, seated at God's right hand; the Lord in whose name all is done and who forgives His own.

God the Father

The One with whom the believer's life is hidden in Christ; the Father to whom thanks is given through Jesus.

Seeking Things Above

Since believers are raised with Christ, they are instructed to seek heavenly things where Christ sits at God's right hand [12].

Colossians 3:1-4

Putting to Death the Earthly Nature

Believers must put to death earthly members like idolatry, anger, and lying, taking off the old man [12, 13].

Colossians 3:5-9

Putting on the New Man

They are to put on compassion, humility, forgiveness, and love, which is the bond of perfection [13, 14].
