Timeline

Genesis 24:1-4The servant asks if he should bring Isaac back to Abraham's land if the woman won't come. Abraham forbids this, trusting God to send His Angel and prosper the journey. The servant swears and takes ten camels and goods to Nahor's city in Mesopotamia.
Genesis 24:5-10At a well outside the city, at evening, the servant prays to Jehovah, asking for a sign: the woman who offers him and his camels water will be the one appointed for Isaac.
