Genesis 50:1-3After the mourning period, Joseph seeks permission from Pharaoh to go bury his father in the grave Jacob dug for himself in Canaan, as he swore to him. Pharaoh grants permission.
Genesis 50:4-6Joseph goes up to bury his father, accompanied by all Pharaoh's servants, the elders of his house and Egypt, all of Joseph's household, his brothers, and his father's household (leaving only little ones and flocks in Goshen). A very great company with horsemen and chariots accompanies them.
