KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 41 of 66

1 Be quiet towards Me, O isles; and let peoples renew their strength. They come near; then they speak: Let us draw near together for judgment.

2 Who raised up in righteousness from the east? He called him to His foot; He gives nations before him, and subdues kings; He gives them as dust to his sword, as driven stubble to his bow;

3 He pursues them; he passes on in peace; he does not go by the way with his feet.

Israel

Jehovah's chosen servant, told not to fear, that Jehovah upholds and redeems him (v8-16).

Timeline

Stirring the Conqueror from the East

God calls the nations to judgment, declaring He has raised up a conqueror from the east who subdues kings, causing idolaters to panic and build stronger idols.

God reassures Israel, His elect servant, not to fear. He promises to make them a sharp threshing instrument to crush mountains and to provide rivers in the desert.
