Isaiah 54

KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 54 of 66

1 Sing out, barren one who never bore; break out a song and shout, you who never brought forth. For the sons of the desolate one are more than the sons of the married woman, says Jehovah.

2 Make the place of your tent larger, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings. Do not spare, lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.

3 For you shall break forth on the right hand and on the left. And your seed shall possess nations, and ruined cities shall be lived in.

Sing, Barren Woman

Zion, compared to a barren woman, is commanded to sing and enlarge her tent because her children will be numerous, possessing nations and inhabiting ruined cities.

The Covenant of Peace Like Noah's Flood

God promises He only forsook Zion for a brief moment but will gather her with everlasting kindness. He swears a covenant of peace, promising never to be angry with her again, likening it to His oath after Noah's flood.

Isaiah 54:6-10
The Rebuilding of the Glorious City

God promises to rebuild the storm-tossed city with precious stones (sapphires, rubies). He declares all her sons will be taught by Him and no weapon formed against her will prosper.
