Isaiah 59

KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 59 of 66

1 Behold, the hand of Jehovah is not shortened from saving, and not is His ear heavy from hearing.

2 But your iniquities are coming between you and your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, from hearing.

3 For your palms are defiled by blood; yea, your fingers with iniquity. Your lips have spoken falsehood; your tongue murmurs perverseness.

Timeline

Sins Separate the People from God

The prophet explains that God is not unable to save, but the people's iniquities, bloody hands, lies, and hatching of adders' eggs have hidden His face from them.

The people confess their societal corruption, stating they grope like the blind at noonday, justice is driven back, and truth stumbles in the plaza.

Seeing there is no intercessor, Jehovah's own arm brings salvation. He puts on righteousness as body armor and robes of vengeance to repay His enemies.
