Chapter Summary
1 We are to strive against covetousness, 4 intemperance, and rash judgment of others, 13 to commit all our affairs to God’s providence.

Timeline
Wars and fightings among believers spring from lusts warring in their members. They desire but do not have; they murder and are jealous. They ask and do not receive because they ask badly, wanting to spend on pleasures.
James 4:1-3Friendship with the world is hostility toward God. Whoever purposes to be a friend of the world is set against God. But God gives greater grace: He resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
James 4:4-6Be subject to God. Resist the devil and he will flee. Draw near to God and He draws near to you. Cleanse hands, purify hearts. Be distressed and mourn. Be humbled before the Lord and He will exalt you.
