KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 12 of 52

1 Righteous are You, O Jehovah, when I might contend with You, yet let me speak with You of Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked ones prosper? Why are all at ease, those who act deceitfully, with deceit.

2 You planted them; yea, they take root, they go on, they even make fruit. You are near in their mouth, and far from their kidneys.

3 But You know me, O Jehovah. You have seen me and tried my heart toward You. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and consecrate them to the day of slaughter.

Chapter Summary

Jeremiah, complaining of the wicked's prosperity sees their ruin. Jehovah warns him of the treachery of his brothers. He promises to the penitent a return from captivity.
