1 And was the Word of Jehovah to me, saying,

2 You shall not take a wife for yourself, and not will be to you sons or daughters in this place.

3 For so says Jehovah concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who fathered them in this land:

Chapter Summary

The prophet, under the types of abstaining from marriage, from houses of mourning and feasting, foretells the utter ruin of the Jews. Their return from captivity shall be strange.
