Jeremiah 6

KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 6 of 52

1 O sons of Benjamin take refuge from the midst of Jerusalem. And blow the rams' horn in Tekoa; and set up a signal over Beth-haccerem. For evil looks down out of the north, and a great shattering.

2 I will destroy the daughter of Zion, the beautiful and delicate one.

3 Those feeding shall come to her with their flocks; they shall pitch tents on her all around. They shall each man feed in his hand.

Timeline

Flee Benjamin and the Siege Mound

A warning is given to the sons of Benjamin to flee Jerusalem. God orders a siege-mound poured out against Jerusalem because of the oppression and violence in her midst.

Gleaning the Remnant and Uncircumcised Ears

Jehovah commands the gleaning of the remnant of Israel. Jeremiah laments that their ears are uncircumcised and they deal falsely, crying 'Peace, peace' when there is no peace.

Jeremiah 6:9-15
Rejection of the Old Paths

God tells the people to ask for the old paths and the good way to find rest, but they refuse. He rejects their frankincense and sacrifices as unacceptable.
