Timeline
Job answers Jehovah, acknowledging God's omnipotence and confessing that he spoke of wonderful things he did not understand. Having now seen God with his own eyes, Job despises himself and repents in dust and ashes.
Job 42:1-6Jehovah's anger burns against Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar for not speaking what is right about Him. He commands them to take seven bulls and seven rams, offer a burnt offering, and have Job pray for them to avoid punishment.
Job 42:7-8Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar go and do exactly as Jehovah commanded them. Jehovah then accepts Job's prayer on behalf of his friends.
