1 But seeing the crowds, He went up into the mountain, and He having sat down, His disciples came near to Him.

2 And opening His mouth, He taught them, saying:

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens.

4 Blessed are the ones mourning! For they shall be comforted.
