1 Therefore, if there is any comfort in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender bowels and mercies,

2 fulfill my joy, that you think the same, having the same love, one in soul, being mindful of the one thing,

3 doing nothing according to intrigue or self-glory, but in humility, esteeming one another, as being better than themselves;

The Humility and Exaltation of Christ

Believers are instructed to have the same mind as Christ, who emptied Himself of His equality with God to take the form of a slave and become obedient to death on a cross [8]. Because of this ultimate humility, God highly exalted Him, granting Him a name above every name so that every knee will bow to Him [8, 9].
