KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 105 of 150

¹ O give thanks to Jehovah; call on His name; make His deeds known among the peoples.

² Sing to Him; sing praises to Him; meditate on all His wonders.

³ Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek Jehovah rejoice.

⁴ Seek Jehovah and His strength; seek His face without ceasing.

Abraham

Patriarch with whom Jehovah cut His everlasting covenant, here remembered as His servant (vv. 6, 9, 42).

Joseph

Sold as a slave, his feet in chains, then raised to rule Egypt as the man God sent ahead (vv. 17-22).

Jacob

Patriarch and namesake of Israel; the covenant was made to stand for him, and he sojourned in Egypt (vv. 6, 10, 23).

Moses

Jehovah's servant, sent with Aaron to work signs and wonders in the land of Ham (vv. 26-27).

Aaron

Chosen by Jehovah and sent alongside Moses to perform His signs against Egypt (vv. 26-27).

Isaac

Son of Abraham; the oath of the covenant was confirmed to him (v. 9).

Covenant with the Patriarchs

God cuts a covenant with Abraham, swears an oath to Isaac, and makes it a perpetual statute to Israel to give them the land of Canaan.

The patriarchs walk from nation to nation as aliens, and God reproves kings, warning them not to harm His anointed prophets.

God calls a famine upon the land and breaks the whole staff of bread.
