1 A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried to Jehovah, and He answered me.

2 O Jehovah, deliver my soul from lips of falsehood, from a deceitful tongue.

3 What shall be given to you, or what shall one add to you, O deceitful tongue?

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty with coals of broom!
