¹ Woe to her rebelling and being defiled, to the oppressing city!

² She did not listen to the voice; she did not receive correction; she did not trust in Jehovah; she did not draw near to her God.

³ Her rulers within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they do not gnaw bones for the morning.

Jehovah

The righteous One in her midst who judges Jerusalem, gathers the nations, and saves and rejoices over the restored remnant.

Woe to Jerusalem

Jerusalem is condemned for rebelling, with rulers acting like roaring lions and priests polluting the sanctuary by doing violence to the Law.

Zephaniah 3:1-7

Gathering for Fury

Jehovah declares His intent to gather nations and assemble kingdoms to pour out His fury and devour the earth with the fire of His jealousy.

A clear lip is given to the peoples so they can call upon the name of Jehovah and serve Him with one shoulder.
