1 Jesus is accused before Pilate, and sent to Herod. 8 Herod mocks him. 13 Barabbas is desired of the people, and is freed by Pilate, and Jesus is given to be crucified. 34 He prays for his enemies. 46 His death. 50 His burial.

1And rising up, all the multitude of them led Him to Pilate.
2And they began to accuse Him, saying, we found this man perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying Himself to be Christ, a king.
3And Pilate questioned Him, saying, AreYou the king of the Jews? And He answering him, said, You say it.
4And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, I find no cause of death in this Man.
5But they insisted, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to here.
6And Pilate, hearing Galilee, asked if the man is a Galilean.
7And knowing that He is from Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him up to Herod, he also being in Jerusalem in these days.
8And Herod, seeing Jesus, greatly rejoiced, for he was wanting to see Him for a considerable time, because he wished to hear many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miraculous sign being done by Him.
9And he questioned Him in many words. But He answered him not a thing.
10And the chief priests and the scribes stood vehemently accusing Him.
11And Herod having despised Him with his soldiery, and having mocked Him by putting around Him luxurious clothing, he sent Him back to Pilate.
12And on that same day, both Pilate and Herod became friends with each other, for they before were at enmity between themselves.
13And Pilate, having called together the chief priests and the leaders and the people,
14said to them, You brought this Man to me as perverting the people. And, behold, examining Him before you, I found no cause of death in this Man regarding that which you bring charge against Him.
15But neither did Herod, for I sent you up to him; and, behold, nothing worthy of death is done by Him.
16Then scourging Him, I will release Him.
17And he had to release to them one at the Feast.
18And they all together cried out, saying, Take this One, and release to us Barabbas
19(who was, due to some insurrection occurring in the city, and murder, thrown into prison.)
20Therefore Pilate again called to them, desiring to release Jesus.
21But they shouted, saying, Crucify! Crucify Him!
22And a third time he said to them, For what evil thing did this man do? I found nothing as cause of death in Him; therefore scourging Him, I will release Him.
23But with loud voices they were urgent, asking for Him to be crucified. And their voices, and that of the chief priests, prevailed.
24And Pilate adjudged their request to be done.
25And he released to them the one having been thrown into prison due to revolt and murder, for whom they asked. But he gave over Jesus to their will.
26And as they led Him away, having laid hold on Simon, a certain Cyrenian, coming from a field, they put the cross on him, to bear it behind Jesus.
27And a great multitude of people were following Him, and of women who also were bewailing and lamenting Him.
28And turning to them, Jesus said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over Me, but weep over yourselves and over your children.
29For behold, days will come in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that did not bear, and breasts that did not give suck.
30“Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! And to the hills, Cover us!” Hosea 10:8
31For if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry tree?
32And also others, two criminals, were led with Him to be put to death.
33And when they came on the place being called Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one at the right, and one at the left.
34And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And dividing His garments, they cast a lot. Psa. 22:18
35And the people stood watching. And the rulers with them also scoffed, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself, if this One is the Christ, the Elect of God.
36And coming near, the soldiers also mocked Him and were offering vinegar to Him,
37and saying, If You are the king of the Jews, save Yourself.
38And also an inscription was written over Him, in letters, Greek and Latin and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39And one of the hanged criminals blasphemed Him, saying, If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.
40But answering, the other rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, for you are in the same judgment?
41And we indeed justly, for we receive things worthy of what we did. But this One did nothing amiss.
42And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingdom.
43And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, Today you will be with Me in Paradise.
44And it was about the sixth hour, and darkness came to be over all the land until the ninth hour.
45And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn apart in the middle.
46And crying with a loud voice, Jesus said, Father, “into Your hands I commit My spirit.” And saying this, He expired. Psa. 31:5
47And the centurion, seeing the thing happening, glorified God, saying, Truly, this Man was righteous.
48And all the crowd arriving together at this sight, watching the things happening, beating their breasts, they returned.
49And all those known to Him stood at a distance, and the women, the ones having acccompanied Him from Galilee, were seeing these things.
50And, behold, a man, Joseph by name, being a councillor, a good and righteous man.
51This one was not assenting to their counsel and action (he was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews), and who also himself was eagerly expecting the kingdom of God,
52this one, coming near to Pilate, asked for the body of Jesus.
53And taking it down, he wrapped it in linen, and placed it in a tomb hewn in stone, where no one was ever yet laid.
54And it was Preparation Day, and a sabbath was coming on.
55And having followed, also the women who were accompanying Him out of Galilee, watched the tomb, and how His body was placed.
56And returning, they prepared spices and ointments. And indeed they rested on the sabbath, according to the commandment.
