KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 22 of 36

1 And those living in Jerusalem made his youngest son Ahaziah king in his place (for all the first ones had been slain by the troop that came in with the Arabians to the battle) and Ahaziah the son of Jehoram the king of Judah reigned.

2 Ahaziah was a son of forty two years when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to do evilly.

Chapter Summary

Ahaziah succeeds and reigns wickedly. He is slain by Jehu. Athaliah destroys all the royal heirs except Joash, usurps the kingdom.
