1 But a certain man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a property,

2 and kept back for himself from the price, his wife also being aware of it, and bringing a certain part, he placed it at the feet of the apostles.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why did Satan fill your heart for you to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself from the price of the land?
