Ezra 6:1-5Darius commands Tatnai to stay away and orders that building expenses and daily sacrificial provisions be paid from royal taxes, decreeing severe punishment for anyone who alters the edict.
Ezra 6:6-12Tatnai and his associates execute King Darius's command exactly. The Jewish elders successfully continue building, spurred on by the prophesying of Haggai and Zechariah.
