Genesis 4:1-2Cain brings an offering from the ground, but it is not favored by God. Abel brings an offering from the firstlings of his flock, which God favors. Enraged, Cain kills Abel in the field.
Genesis 4:3-8God confronts Cain, curses him to be a vagabond and fugitive, and puts a mark on him to prevent anyone from killing him. Cain lives in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
