Hebrews 6

KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 6 of 13

1 Therefore, having left the word of the beginning of Christ, let us be borne on to maturity, not laying down again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 of baptisms, of doctrine, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of dead ones, and of eternal judgment.

3 And this we will do, if indeed God permits.

Impossible to Renew the Fallen

It is impossible for those once enlightened who tasted the heavenly gift, shared the Holy Spirit, tasted God's good Word, and then fell away to be renewed to repentance — they crucify the Son of God again and hold Him up to public shame.

Fruitful Land and Thorny Ground

Earth that drinks rain and produces useful vegetation receives blessing from God, but earth bearing thorns and thistles is rejected and near a curse. Yet the author is persuaded of better things concerning the recipients.
