Timeline
Every high priest is taken from men and appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. Christ did not glorify Himself but was called by God, declared a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 5:1-6In the days of His flesh, Christ offered petitions and entreaties with strong crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death. Though a Son, He learned obedience from suffering and became the Author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.
Hebrews 5:7-10The recipients should be teachers by now but need basic instruction again. They need milk, not solid food. Solid food is for mature ones whose faculties have been exercised through habit to judge both good and bad.
