¹ Then the scribes and Pharisees came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,

² Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

³ But answering He said to them, And why do you transgress the command of God on account of your tradition?

Chapter Summary

3 Christ questions the scribes and Pharisees: 11 teaches how that which goes into the mouth does not defile a man. 21 He heals the daughter of the woman of Canaan, 32 and with seven loaves and a few small fish feeds four thousand people.
