KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 9 of 36

1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

2 Also the sons of Israel shall prepare the Passover in its appointed season.

3 In the fourteenth day of this month, between the evenings, you shall prepare it according to all its statutes, and according to all its ordinances.

Second-year Passover

In the first month of the second year, God commands Israel to observe the Passover. They prepare it in the wilderness of Sinai exactly according to all its statutes and ordinances.

Some men defiled by a dead body ask how they can observe the Passover. God provides a law allowing anyone unclean or far away on a journey to keep a second Passover in the second month with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

A cloud covers the tabernacle by day, and an appearance of fire covers it by night. Whenever the cloud lifts, the Israelites pull up stakes and march, and wherever it settles, they encamp.
