Genesis 44

KJ3 Literal Translation — Chapter 44 of 50

1 And he commanded the one over his house, saying, Fill the sacks of the men with food, as much as they are able to carry; and put the silver of each man in the mouth of his sack.

2 And put my cup, the cup of silver, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and the silver for his grain. And he did according to Joseph's word, that which he spoke.

3 At the morning light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.

Genesis 44:3-5
The Cup is Found, Brothers Return

The steward overtakes them and delivers the accusation. The brothers deny it vehemently, offering that whoever has the cup should die, and they would all become Joseph's slaves. The steward agrees, but says only the guilty one will be his slave, and the others innocent. They quickly empty their sacks, and the cup is found in Benjamin's sack. They tear their clothes, reload their asses, and return to the city.
