Timeline
In Jehoiakim's fourth year, Jeremiah recounts 23 years of ignored prophesying. Because Judah rejected the prophets, Jehovah decrees Nebuchadnezzar will utterly devastate the land, and they will serve Babylon for seventy years.
Jeremiah 25:1-11Jehovah promises that after the seventy years are completed, He will call the King of Babylon and the Chaldeans to account for their iniquities, making their land an everlasting ruin.
Jeremiah 25:12-14Jehovah commands Jeremiah to take the cup of His wrath and make all nations drink it, causing them to reel and fall by the sword. The judgment starts with Jerusalem and extends to Egypt, Philistia, Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyre, and finally Sheshach (Babylon).
