Proverbs 13

He who despises the Word shall be destroyed.

1A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a scorner does not hear rebuke.
2From the fruit of his mouth a man eats good, but the soul of those betraying eats violence.
3He who guards his mouth keeps his life; he who opens his lips wide, ruin is to him.
4A sluggish one's soul is craving, but having nothing, but the soul of the diligent ones shall be made fat.
5The righteous one hates a word of falsehood, but the wicked one is odious and acts shamefully.
6Righteousness keeps the way of the one of integrity, but wickedness subverts a sin-offering.
7There is one being rich, yet having nothing at all; but one acting poor has much wealth.
8The ransom of a man's life is his riches, but one acting poor does not hear rebuke.
9The light of the righteous ones rejoice, but the lamp of the wicked ones shall be put out.
10Only by pride comes strife, but with those taking counsel wisdom.
11Wealth from vanity shall diminish, but he who gathers by hand shall increase.
12Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a tree of life is desire coming.
13He who despises the Word shall ruin himself, but one fearing the commandment, he shall be rewarded.
14The law of the wise one is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.
15Good prudence gives grace, but the way of those betraying is ever flowing.
16Every prudent one deals with knowledge, but a fool lays open his folly.
17A wicked messenger falls into an evil way, but a faithful envoy is healing.
18Poverty and shame shall be to him letting chastening go, but he who keeps to chastisement shall be honored.
19The desire coming to pass is sweet to the soul, but to turn away from an evil way is a disgusting thing to fools.
20One walking with the wise ones shall be wise, but a feeder of fools shall be made evil.
21An evil end pursues sinners, but the righteous ones shall be rewarded with good.
22A good man makes the sons of his son to inherit, but the wealth of the sinner is treasured up for the righteous one.
23The tilled land of one being poor yields much food, but when there is no justice, it is swept away.
24One holding back his rod is hating his son, but he loving him seeks him with correction.
25The righteous one eats to the satisfaction of his soul, but the belly of the wicked ones shall lack.
