Proverbs 19

The fear of Jehovah tends to life.

1One being poor who walks in his integrity is better than a perverted one in his lips, and is a fool.
2Also, without knowledge the soul is not good, and he hurrying with his feet sins.
3The folly of man perverts his way, and his heart rages against Jehovah.
4Wealth adds many friends, but the poor one is separated from his neighbor.
5A witness of falsehoods will not be free from guilt; yea, a breather of lies shall not slip away.
6Many will beg at the face of a noble one, and all are friends to a man of gifts.
7All the brothers of the one being poor hate him, and his friends also surely have been far from him; he pursues them with words, yet they are not.
8He possessing heart loves his own soul, he keeping understanding finds good.
9A witness of falsehood shall not be free from guilt; yea, one breathing lies shall perish.
10Luxury is not becoming for a fool, much less for a servant to rule over rulers.
11The discretion of a man makes his anger long, and his glory is to pass over a transgression.
12The king's rage is like a lion's roar, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
13A son who is a fool is calamity to his father, and the drippings of a woman is a continuing dripping.
14House and riches are the inheritance of fathers, but a wife who acts prudently is from Jehovah.
15Laziness makes one fall into a deep sleep, and an idle soul shall be hungry.
16One keeping the commandment keeps his own soul; he who despises His ways shall die.
17One favoring the poor one lends to Jehovah, and He will repay his dealing to him.
18Chasten your son, for there is hope, and do not lift your soul on making him die.
19One great of fury will bear a fine, for if you deliver him, even again you must add to it.
20Hear counsel and accept chastening, that you may be wise in your latter end.
21Many purposes are in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah shall rise.
22The desirableness of a man is his kindness, and it is better to be poor than a man of a lie.
23The fear of Jehovah tends to life, and he shall rest satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
24A lazy one hides his hand in a dish, and he will not return it to his mouth.
25Strike a scorner and one of simplicity will become shrewd; reprove a discerner, and he will discern knowledge.
26He who deals violently with his father chases his mother away; he is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
27My son, cease to hear the chastening only to stray from the words of knowledge.
28A worthless witness scorns justice, and the mouth of the wicked one swallows iniquity.
29Judgments are prepared for scorners, and blows for the backs of fools.
