Proverbs 21

Jehovah will strive for the cause of the poor.

1As streams of waters, the king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah; He extends it wherever He desires.
2Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Jehovah weighs the hearts.
3For Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice is to be chosen more than sacrifice.
4High eyes, a proud heart, and the fallow ground of the wicked ones, is sin.
5The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenty, but those of every one being hasty only to poverty.
6The acquisition of treasures by a tongue of falsehood is a vapor driven by those who seek death.
7The violence of wickedness drags them down, because they refuse to do justice.
8The work of a guilty man is perverted; but the pure one is an upright one.
9It is better to dwell on a corner of a housetop, than with a woman of contentious, and to share a house.
10The soul of wicked ones desires an evil thing; his neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.
11The one of simplicity is made to be wise when the scorner is punished, and when the wise one is instructed, he takes in knowledge.
12The Righteous One is acting wisely toward the house of the wicked one; He subverts wickedness for its evil.
13One shutting his ears at the cry of the poor one, he himself shall also call and shall not be answered.
14A gift in secret subdues anger; yea, a bribe in the bosom quiets fierce fury.
15It is joy to the righteous one to do justice, but ruin shall come to the workers of iniquity.
16The man who wanders out of the way of prudence shall rest in the assembly of departed spirits.
17A man who loves pleasure shall have poverty, he who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.
18The wicked one shall be a ransom for the righteous one, and the one acting treacherously instead of the upright ones.
19It is better to live in a land of the wilderness than with a woman of contentions and anger.
20A treasure to be desired and oil are in the dwelling of the wise ones, but a man who is a fool swallows it.
21He pursuing righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness and honor.
22A wise one makes the city of the mighty ones go up, and makes go down the force in which it trusts.
23Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue guards his soul from distresses.
24The proud arrogant one, scoffer is his name, he who deals in proud wrath.
25The lust of the lazy man kills him, for his hands have refused to work.
26All the day he longs with lust, but the righteous one gives and does not withhold.
27The sacrifice of the wicked ones is a disgusting thing; how much more when he brings it with an evil intent!
28A witness of falsehood shall perish, but the man who hears will speak forever.
29A wicked man hardens his face, but he, the upright one, establishes his way.
30There is no wisdom and no understanding and no counsel against Jehovah.
31The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but to Jehovah belongs deliverance.
