Proverbs 16
A man's heart plans; Jehovah fixes his step.
1Of man are plans of the heart, and the answer of the tongue from Jehovah.
2All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but Jehovah weighs the spirits.
3Roll your works on Jehovah, and your thoughts will be established.
4Jehovah has made all for His purpose, yea, even the wicked one for the day of evil things.
5A disgusting thing to Jehovah is everyone proud in heart; though hand join in hand he shall not be free from guilt.
6Iniquity is covered by mercy and truth, and in the fear of Jehovah men turn aside from evil ways.
7When a man's ways please Jehovah, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8Better is a little with righteousness than great increase without justice.
9A man's heart plans his way, but Jehovah establishes his step.
10A divination is on the king's lips; his mouth does not act unfaithfully in judgment.
11A scale and balances of justice are to Jehovah, all the stones of the bag are His work.
12It is a disgusting thing for kings to commit wickedness, for the throne is made firm by righteousness.
13Righteous lips are the delight of kings, and he speaking uprightly is loved.
14A king's fury is as messengers of death, but a wise man will cover it.
15In the light of the face of the king is life, and his favor is like a cloud of the latter rain.
16How much better to obtain wisdom than gold! And to obtain understanding is to be chosen above silver.
17The way of the upright one is to turn aside from evil ways; he keeping his soul watches his way.
18Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19Better is lowness of spirit with the humble ones than to divide the spoil with the proud ones.
20He being prudent on a matter shall find good success; yea, he trusting in Jehovah, blessed is he!
21The wise in heart shall be called understanding, and sweetness of lips increases learning.
22Prudence is a fountain of life to its owners, but the correction of foolish ones is folly.
23The heart of the wise ones makes his mouth prudent, and he adds learning on his lips.
24Combs of honey are sayings of pleasantness, sweetness to the soul and healing to the bones.
25There is a way seeming right to a man's face, but the end of it is the ways of death.
26The soul who labors is a laborer for himself, for his mouth urges him on.
27A man of worthlessness digs up evil things, and on his lips it is like a burning fire.
28A man of perversity sends out strife, and a talebearer separates from a friend.
29A man of violence lures his neighbor, and causes him to go in a way that is not good.
30He who shuts his eyes to plan perversity, compressing his lips, he finishes in an evil plan.
31The gray head is a crown of glory; it is found in the way of righteousness.
32One long to anger is better than the mighty one, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
33The lot is cast into the bosom, but all the ordering of it is from Jehovah.
