KJ3 Literal Translation
Psalms 118
An exhortation to praise Jehovah for His mercy. The coming of Christ in His kingdom.
1Give thanks to Jehovah, for He is good; because His mercy endures forever.
2Let Israel say now that His mercy endures forever.
3Let the house of Aaron say now that His mercy endures forever.
4Let those fearing Jehovah say now that His mercy endures forever.
5I called Jehovah from the distress; He answered me in the large place of Jehovah.
6Jehovah is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me?
7Jehovah is for me among those helping me, and I will look on those hating me.
8It is better to take refuge in Jehovah than to trust in man;
9it is better to take refuge in Jehovah than to trust in nobles.
10All the nations encompass me; but surely I will cut them off in the name of Jehovah.
11They encompass me; even they encompass me; I surely will cut them off in the name of Jehovah.
12they encompass me like bees; they are quenched like the fire of thorns; for surely I will cut them off in the name of Jehovah.
13Thrusting, you thrust me down to fall; but Jehovah helped me.
14Jehovah is my strength and my song; and He is my salvation.
15The voice of a ringing cry of joy and salvation is in the tents of the righteous ones; the right hand of Jehovah works mightily.
16The right hand of Jehovah is exalted; the right hand of Jehovah acts with strength.
17I shall not die, but I shall live and declare the works of Jah.
18Chastening, Jah has chastened me, but He has not given me to death.
19Open the gates of righteousness to me, I will enter into them; I will thank Jehovah.
20This is the gate to Jehovah, the righteous ones shall enter into it.
21I will thank You, for You answered me, and You are my salvation.
22The Stone which the builders rejected has become the Head of the Corner.
23This is from Jehovah, it is wonderful in our eyes.
24This is the day Jehovah has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
25O Jehovah, I pray, save now; I pray, O Jehovah, cause me to prosper now.
26Blessed is he who comes in the name of Jehovah; we blessed you from the house of Jehovah.
27Jehovah is God, and He gives light to us. Tie the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.
28You are my God, and I will exalt You; My God, I will thank You!
29O give thanks to Jehovah, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever.
