Psalms 124
The elect bless Jehovah for a miraculous deliverance.
1A Song of Ascents, of David. Except that it was Jehovah who was for us, O may Israel say;
2except that it was Jehovah who was for us in the rising of men against us,
3then they would have swallowed us alive, their anger was hot against us.
4the waters would have flowed over us; the torrent would have covered our soul;
5then the raging waters would have passed over our soul.
6Blessed be Jehovah, who did not give us as a prey to their teeth.
7Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowlers' snare; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.
8Our help is in the name of Jehovah, the One making the heavens and earth.
