Psalms 132

David in his prayer commends to Jehovah the religious care he had for the ark.

1A Song of Ascents. O Jehovah, remember David with all his afflictions,

2who swore to Jehovah; he vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob,

3If I will go into the tent of my house, if I go up on the couch of my bed,

4if I give sleep to my eyes, slumber to my eyelids,

5until I search out a place for Jehovah, dwellings for the Mighty One of Jacob.

6Behold, we have heard of it at Ephratah; we found it in the fields of the forest;

7we will enter into His tabernacles; we will worship at His footstool.

8Arise, O Jehovah, into Your rest; You, and the ark of Your strength;

9Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your godly ones shout for joy.

10For the sake of Your servant David do not turn away the face of Your anointed.

11Jehovah has sworn to David in truth; He will not turn from it; I will set one of the fruit of your body on the throne for you.

12If your sons will keep My covenant and My testimonies which I will teach them, their sons shall also sit on the throne for you forever.

13Jehovah has chosen Zion; He has desired it for a dwelling-place to Him.

14This is My rest till forever; I will dwell here; I have desired it.

15Blessing, I will bless her food-supply; I will satisfy her needy ones with bread.

16And I will clothe her priests with salvation; and shouting, her godly ones shall give a ringing cry of joy.

17I will make the horn of David to sprout; I have arranged a lamp for My Anointed.

18I will clothe His enemies with shame, but His crown shall flourish upon Him.
